Brooklyn-based band gets set to release its debut on the Sargent House label.
From the Press Release: Fang Island is Jason Bartell, Philip Curcuru, Chris Georges, Nicholas Andrew Sadler, and Marc St. Sauveur: a Brooklyn based five-piece that string together burgeoning sounds, ideas, friendships, hopes, and other various types of fun into an audible onslaught that is both energetic and unabashedly infectious. Instead of creating music geared toward today's insular and insolated society, Fang Island simply describe their sound to be like that of everyone high-fiving everyone.
On their self-titled debut full-length, Fang Island's three part guitar harmonies, pounding bass lines, tight-as-hell drumming, and joyous choral vocals, create epic and triumphant gatherings of sound. One such track, "The Absolute Place" (both the original, as well as the track remixed by Yeasayer's Chris Keating) can be heard here courtesy of the good folks at Stereogum.com!
* Fang Island is currently mastering their debut, self-titled album, and will be announcing the release date soon. The band has also announced East Coast tour dates w/ label-mates Maps & Atlases.
