I was first introduced to Incubus during the late nineties when postcards started arriving from their label. I was quick to toss them and lump the band in with all of the nu-metal that was going on at the time. Then I heard “Drive”..
and was curious how such a crappy band can make such a good song. I have since grown fond of Brandon’s vocal range and odd harmonies, Mike’s range and unique style on guitar and the way all of the members blend their different influences and styles. “Monuments & Melodies” is a two-disc collection of hits and rarities – For me, the “Morning View” record is easily their best but this is a nice collection. Brendan O’Brien produced the two new tracks.
