Paper Garden launches reKiosk

Paper Garden Records has launched a new service called reKiosk. It appears that this is a new distribution platform that allows artists and labels to harness the power of independent publishers and for the publishers to share in the proceeds from sales. reKiosk is led by CEO Aziz Isham. rekiosk.com

The Glorious Dead

The Heavy recently released a new record called "The Glorious Dead". I got turned on to them while they were promoting their last record. The song "How You Like Me Now" really grabbed my attention with its strong hook and horns. That song is brilliant and I'm not sure there are any as strong here on the new record but they stay true to their funk, rock, R&B recipe that that they pull off really well. Tell Me I'm Wrong

Sub Pop signs Daughn Gibson

Sub Pop has added Carlisle, PA-based singer/songwriter, Daughn Gibson, to the roster. His debut record "All Hell" was considered one of Ptchfork's most overlooked records of 2012 [White Denim Records]. The label is planning to release his next record next year. www.subpop.com
